Ponderosa Pet Resort is a full service pet facility centrally located in Georgetown, TX and is easily accessible from IH-35. Our massive 13,000 square foot building offers climate controlled indoor boarding and play centers, as well as outdoor training and play areas. Phillip Paris – Owner and Head Trainer
In 1999, Phillip founded Capital Area K-9 Consultants in response to local input about the need for quality pet dog training in Georgetown, TX and Central Texas. Since that time, Phillip has trained thousands of dogs for clients all over Texas, the U.S. and Canada and has built a solid reputation as a professional trainer.
Phillip was also a Police Officer for the City of Georgetown for 15 years (1994-2009) and retired honorably in December of 2009. Phillip's success in the police K-9 industry carried over into dog training for pets. Having observed the rigid style of police dog training, Phillip developed his own unique style and method balancing love and discipline to develop obedience in dogs.
Following his success as a trainer, Phillip turned his sights on creating Ponderosa Pet Resort, a pet day care in Georgetown offering full scale dog services including boarding, grooming, daycare and training.
Phillip's methods of training are fun, insightful and innovative. Realizing that not all dogs learn the same way, he is able to create effective training programs tailored to the specific learning style and temperament of every dog he meets.
Phillip also specializes in problem dogs and behaviors and uses his unique insights to help dog owners overcome their issues and create a balanced relationship with their pets.
Phillip resides in Georgetown with his wife Mindy and their son Parker. They own a Great Dane named Sampson and two Shizpoos named Abigail and Hank.
